Moisture and water can also damage and impact the insulation in your home like in your attic and walls. When wet, some insulation like fiberglass or expanded foam can be dried and saved. 

Insulation is measured by its R-value, R-value measures how well building insulation can prevent the flow of heat into and out of the home.

Blown insulation that is wet loses it's R-value or ability to insulate and should be replaced.
