Freezing Temperatures Cause Damage on The North Coast
1/25/2021 (Permalink)
Temperatures in the Tillamook area don’t normally get so cold, but each year we normally get a few days of snow and freezing temperatures. When we have a few days of below-freezing weather that is when frozen pipes are most likely to occur. Frozen pipes occur when temperatures are below freezing for a few days, causing water inside the pipes to freeze and expand. When temperatures rise again, the water melts and leaks through the newly formed split in the pipe. Leaks from frozen pipes occur regularly in the winter months and can cause a large amount of damage.
